What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapists specialize in providing clients with the skills to live their life after a disability, and teaching alternative ways to accomplish goals after life circumstances have changed. This can be due to conditions resulting from disability, aging, mental illness, or simply a change of life circumstances. Occupational therapists use a holistic approach, and work to change to environment or improve skills in order to make the client successful in achieving goals. The client is the center of our care, and we form goals based on the client and family's preferences.

What Do Services Include?
  • Services begin with a personalized assessment to determine present levels of function and performance, as well as to determine patient and family goals.

  • An intervention plan is then formulated based on gathered information. Intervention can take place in the home, or in the community, depending on the preference of the client and the family.

  • Feedback is gathered from the patient and the family during and after intervention to make sure goals have not changed and that progress is being made.

Do You Accept My Insurance Carrier?

Most insurance plans cover occupational therapy services. Our staff will verify existing coverage before services begin. Additionally, we accept most Medicare plans.
